Guest Conductor RUBEN VALENZUELA: This concert will open with Joan Tower’s intrepid work; a “tribute to women who take chances and who are adventurous.” We’ll then feature local favorite pianist Kyle Adam Blair as soloist in Chávez’ dynamic Piano Concerto. Beethoven’s beautiful “Pastoral” Symphony, so named by the composer himself, will complete the program.
