Coffee with Kafka and Bernhard Schlink
Germany's most successful living author, Bernhard Schlink will be talking about his latest book, Olga, and his connection to Franz Kafka, one of the greatest writers in literary history, in conversation with Kafka's Last Love author Kathi Diamant. This intimate event held in a private garden marks one of the few stops on his U.S. book signing tour. Professor emeritus of law at Humboldt University, Berlin, and Cardozo Law School, New York, Schlink is the author of many internationally bestselling novels, including The Reader (1997), which was made into an Oscar-winning film featuring Ralph Fiennes and Kate Winslet. He continues to write powerful and disquieting books that raise moral questions about Germany immediately following WWII. His latest novel, Olga, a story of love, passion, and history, was a #1 international bestseller and follows Olga from the late-19th century to modern-day Germany. Following the conversation, Bernhard will answer questions. Refreshments will be served. Reservations are required. Seating is limited.
