Short Tales From the Mothership
9500 Gilman Drive, San Diego, 92093
Cost: Free
This sci-fi micro fiction event is inspired by sci-fi magazine editor George Hay. In the 1970s, Hay asked authors—including Arthur C. Clarke, the namesake of UC San Diego’s Clarke Center—to submit short stories that would fit on a postcard. Likewise, Short Tales From the Mothership invites participants to submit short stories inspired by UC San Diego’s iconic Geisel Library, designed by architect William Pereira. To participate, send a sci-fi, fantasy or horror story with 250 words or fewer to Scott Paulson ([email protected]). At the event, you will have the opportunity to read your entry or have your work read aloud for you.
