History Talks: Eternally Resting Victorians, The Story of San Diego’s Mount Hope Cemetery, established in 1869, the final resting place for over 76,000, many of them notable residents. Historian Sandee Wilhoit and Visitor Services Coordinator Jamie Laird will share the cemetery history. Interred locals will be discussed, including Ah Quin, known as the unofficial mayor of San Diego’s China Town, Horticulturist Kate Sessions, Nathan Harrison, the first African American homesteader in the San Diego area, Kate Morgan, whose ghost purportedly haunts the Hotel Del Coronado, and Alonzo Horton.
