“Blinded By The Light” (2019. 116 minutes) — During the doldrums of the Thatcher years in the UK, an angsty Pakistani teen (Viveik Kaira) and budding writer yearns to escape the racial turmoil and inflexibility of his strict father. His world is blown open when he finds a cathartic outlet for his pent-up dreams — the music of “The Boss” — Bruce Springsteen. (Based on a true story). FILM FORUM CORONADO is held in the Winn Room at the Coronado Public Library twice a month, on the First and Third Wednesdays at 6 p.m., with a brief introduction before the film and a discussion afterward, led by Ralph DeLauro. This program is presented by the Coronado Public Library and the Coronado Island Film Festival.
