San Diego Beatles Fair

Chris Montez will play his hits "Let's Dance," "Call Me," and "Some Kinda Fun" and talk about his 1963 tour with the Beatles and more. Performers include True Stories, John Leo's John Lennon Tribute Show, and the Original Starfires playing songs from Abbey Road and other classics. Author John Borack talks about his new Beatles book, and the event includes a trivia contest and more. This Year’s Theme? In 1963, The Beatles, alongside Chris Montez and Tommy Roe, set off on a tour of England. The 2022 Beatles Fair will capture a little of that magic, celebrating the music and performers on that tour. Highlights will include The Revolution Band (from Tijuana) and Gilbert Castellanos Young Lions  (Beatles jazz), as well as::

 

Chris Montez - A performance from the former 1963 Beatles tour mate. Chris will share priceless memories of his time with The Beatles and his hits from those special years – his music has been featured in dozens of films evoking the era, including such classics as Animal House and American Graffiti.

 

John Leo – A Top John Lennon tribute artist recreating iconic musical moments!

 

True Stories – San Diego-based all-stars with a new Beatles-themed playlist, and in keeping with the 1963 Tour theme, a few Tommy Roe classics!

 

The Original Starfires – Featuring Laurie Beebe Lewis (Mamas and Papas / The Buckinghams), performing selections from Abbey Road and a few bonus 1960’s hits!

 

Author John Borack
(Goldmine Magazine) will discuss his new book, The Beatles: 100 Pivotal Moments In Music History.

 

Falling Doves – a fusion of stadium rock with garage rock familiarity, the band is an official Cavern Club band from Liverpool, England, honored to return to The International San Diego Beatles festival to represent the city of Liverpool.

 

Courtney McKenna – Rock’s golden era might be decades in the rearview mirror, but singer/songwriter Courtney McKenna breathes new life into the beloved sound with her full-bodied voice, poetic lyrics, and easy guitar melodies.

 

Porcelain Hill – An authentic British Blues Explosion sound, and the chops to match those guitar heroes of eras gone by, this band is not to be missed before they head back to the UK.
