Fringe Festival: Iris And The Axe
2004 Park Boulevard, San Diego, 92101
Age Limit: 18+
Cost: $10
In the year 1870, Iris, a widowed woman, has recently married Charles Cypress, a charming and wealthy young man. What should be a fairy-tale life living in his mansion and enjoying the estate’s lush grounds quickly turns sinister as Iris realizes all is not as it seems. Guided by the Victorian language of flowers, audiences make choices throughout the play that determine Iris’s fate. Featuring text and information from the book Floriography: An Illustrated Guide to the Victorian Language of Flowers by Jessica Roux (2022), used with permission. Outdoor event, bring your own chair and blanket.
