Sir Gawain and the Green Knight Part II (Cantos XXII - XLI) covering Gawain's journey to Sir Bertilak's castle and his reception by that Lord and his Lady, and the bargain they made. We perform in Middle and Modern English, audience members supplying the Modern English; dual-language scripts provided. Drawing on the resources of the Tolkien & Gordon edition, we will open with a few minutes looking at how SGGK combines Old Norse words and chivalrous Norman French words, with Old English verse-forms, to re-tell a story based on Celtic plots and Celtic names.
