Unpop Short Film Fest is a response to a lack. UNPOP is an attempt to find a form and container that localizes the local. Too much talent and work is left to atrophy as it fails to find a home because of outsider aesthetics. Similarly, creative talent and energy dissipates as it launches to the internet like a rocket fired in to space. This open submission format fest has invited San Diego underground movie makers to submit short films for consideration from April through July 20. On August 20, this chaotic curatorial process will unveil its final assemblage at, the debut event of media collective Perfect Healthy, UNPOP Short Film Fest.
