Huntington Witherill: Personal Selections Opening
Monterey, California photographer Huntington Witherill studied in the early 1970s with such notables as Ansel Adams and Wynn Bullock. Over the years his classical, large-format film photography has transitioned to working with a more contemporary approach. The work in this exhibition represents an eclectic mix of Witherill’s ethereal black and white landscape imagery from the mid-90s up to his most recent bodies of color and black and white manipulated photographic art. His devotion to the concept of light as the definer of form is revealed within each of the diverse four bodies of work represented in our exhibition. From whimsy to metaphor, Witherill encourages the viewer to encounter these beyond-the-ordinary color and black and white photographs with delight and mindful reflection. Mr. Witherill will be at the opening reception 4-7pm and will give a talk at 3pm. Reservations are required.
