Join Author of the Month J. Michael Niotta for a discussion and signing of his book, The Fight Abroad & the Fear Back Home: Italians of the California Coast During WWII. While Italian Americans served bravely in WWII, their immigrant relatives and loved ones stateside endured awful treatment back home. Executive Order 9066 not only incarcerated Japanese Americans into concentration camps, it also classified some immigrant Italians as enemy aliens subject to property seizure, curfews and travel restrictions.
