Emotions Embodied: Abstractions from the West Coast
The American abstract movement of the 1950s included artists such as Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, and Helen Frankenthaler, all of whom continue to influence the genre of abstract art in contemporary times. In celebration of this movement and its evolution nearly 70 years later, Art Scene West is bringing you two full weeks of abstract art from artists in Central and Southern California to the Gallery and courtyard for a Spring Emergence pop-up show. The event titled “Emotions Embodied: Abstractions from the West Coast,” will be held May 1 through 14 with pop-ups outside on the weekends. The list of artists and a preview of works that will be available can be viewed online. This show includes 60 pieces and 37 artists. A portion of all proceeds from sales at this show will be donated to The Center for Cultural Innovation.
