Kumeyaay Prehistoric Rock Art of the San Diego Deserts
Author Don Liponi, Ph.D., and Imperial Valley Desert Valley Museum [IVDM] Executive Director, David Breckner, Ph.D., are giving a PP slideshow overview of prehistoric L Rumorosa Rock Art of the Kumeyaay Indians. This is the most extensive art form of Southern California CA, Northern Baja and Western AZ. The imagery and context are two published volumes and an upcoming third publication [2021-2022] of Native American, Archaeology Internship Program at IVDM which has been funded by these publications, the Kumeyaay Nation and Private Donations working together to help Kumeyaay high school students. The presentation is a stunning image based explanation of Shamanistically created artwork by the Kumeyaay anf their direct ancestors that thrived heref or at least 10,000 years prior to European contact. The paintings are recordings of the artist's encouters in the spiritual world.
