Virtual Science & Engineering Day
This Labor Day weekend, embark on a STEM-filled adventure during Science & Engineering Day, hosted by the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum and sponsored by ASML San Diego. Whether you're enjoying a staycation at home or a socially-distanced trip this holiday weekend, there's fun for the whole family to enjoy during this special day full of educational activities. "ASML has made it possible for our community Museum to take one of our most popular events of the year, Science & Engineering Night, and make it accessible to everyone from the safety and comfort of their own home in this new virtual format,” says Shannon Fowler, Director of Marketing at the SDCDM. The virtual science and engineering fair is free to participate in for anyone interested in learning more about the world of STEM. Science and Engineering Day presented by San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum Schedule of events is as follows: 10:00 a.m. - Grab your jetpacks as we fly through Earth's atmosphere in our education activity video. You'll make a stop at the troposphere to get lost in the clouds and discover how they form. 12:30 p.m. - The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires, a special storytime with Ms. Whitney, San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum Director of Education. 2:00 p.m. - As you enter outer space, use your imagination to help astronauts create an asteroid mining machine with our blog activity. This virtual event will be hosted on the Museum's Facebook page. On the day of the event, check the page for the most up to date schedule of activities, and give the page a follow to be notified when live events are starting.
