Introduction to Tantric Buddhism
Starting from the view that transformation and enlightenment are possible for each person, Tantric Buddhism presents effective methods for transforming suffering to wisdom in the midst of everyday life. This weekly class, open to all, presents the view and foundational meditations of Tantra’s “resultant” path from the living wisdom lineage of Tantric Buddhist Master Traktung Khepa (t.k.). Topics include Buddha’s Four Noble Truths; the “pre-preliminary” alchemical considerations of precious human birth, impermanence, karma, and suffering via the Four Thoughts that the Turn the Mind to Dharma ; meditation on deities and mantra as presentations of innate wisdom bliss; Ngondro practice (“the preliminaries”); and the function of the Lama and devotion in Tantra. Class instructor Rigdzin has studied and practiced Tantric Buddhism as a disciple of Traktung Khepa for 25 years. In accord with San Diego County’s COVID requirements, class size is limited for distancing, and masks are required. No cost but registration is required so we can keep tabs on class size; registration is for one class session.
