ZigZag: From the Library to Rochelle Newman
Rooted in a love of libraries, acclaimed author Rochelle Newman’s presentation opens with her own love letter about visiting the public library as a child on New York’s Lower East Side, the unusual reason why she became bilingual, and a riveting talk about her journey. Newman’s reading of ZigZag, the new children’s book she co-authored, sets up the audience to zig-zag from English to Spanish right alongside her. Ultimately, she promises to spark a bilingual “converslation” that culturally curious audience members will long appreciate. An award-winning playwright who first made a name for herself in the LatinX marketing world, Rochelle Newman recently spoke at the Los Angeles Festival of Books. This event is intended for adults and children ages 10 and up. Cake will be served in honor of the Coronado Public Library’s 130th birthday.
