Exploring the Night Sky
Is there an easy way to tell if a bright object is a star or a planet? (Yes, stars can twinkle.) Which planets in our solar system show phases, like the moon? (Venus and Mercury) Join us on Thursday, March 12, as Kin Searcy, San Diego Astronomy Association star party coordinator for Mission Trails Regional Park (MTRP), gives an introductory talk on what one can observe in the San Diego area from amateur telescopes. Doors open at 6:30PM to allow time to for attendees to explore the Visitor Center exhibits and purchase items in the Gift Shop. Kin’s presentation will begin promptly at 7PM.
