Guided Hike Along the Badger Ridge Trail
Join the San Diego River Park Foundation on an exploration to our 12.5 acre Badger Ridge Property! Beginning through Forest Service land, this hike takes you through open prairies and oak dominated woodlands providing you with abundance of native plants and songbirds echoing the valleys. Our path will also take us through a special variety of oak, the Englemann Oak, which is endemic to the area and can only be found from Orange County to northern Baja. Be on the lookout for badgers and their dens! Badger Ridge Property didn’t get its name coincidentally! Badger Ridge Trail: • Distance (Roundtrip): 5.5 • Elevation Change: 490 ft. • Difficulty: Moderate to Difficult How to Prepare: • Bring at least 2 liters of water. • Wear sturdy hiking shoes and sun protection to keep yourself comfortable. • Pack a sack lunch or snack. • Dogs are not allowed. • This hike is not kid-friendly. • Poison oak may be present, so long pants are recommended.
