Writing Circle for Men of Color
2730 Historic Decatur Road, Barracks 16 #202, San Diego, 92106
Age Limit: 18+
Cost: $30 - $36
This class is uniquely tailored towards black and brown men who want to write and share their stories. The class will provide a safe space for men to share their experiences, true feelings without the fear of judgement, and therapeutic approaches to writing. Vera Sanchez is the author of two memoirs, Prison Letters: Walking to Honor and Puto, both novels taking place in San Diego and her neighborhood, Barrio Logan. After the release of her books, Vera was constantly approached by men of color inquiring about how to write, share, and publish their stories. Through research, Vera did not find any men’s writing circles in San Diego let alone for men of color. This class is real for those who are real. Game recognizes game.
