EHC 40th Anniversary Celebration
This year, the Environmental Health Coalition (EHC) is celebrating 40 years of environmental justice, community empowerment, and leadership with a digital event! Join us as we toast to our history and look towards the future alongside our community leaders, allies, and supporters including San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and a keynote address from climate justice champion Elizabeth Yeampierre. You won’t want to miss this important conversation about environmental justice, community crises, and where we go from here. Let's chart the path forward to a just future together! Elizabeth Yeampierre is a visionary leader of the climate justice movement. As Executive Director of UPROSE in Brooklyn she is an internationally recognized Puerto Rican environmental/climate justice leader of African and indigenous ancestry, born and raised in New York City. She's uniquely positioned to discuss the intersection of environmental justice, COVID-19, and the uprising. In 2010, Elizabeth was the opening speaker at the Obama Administration’s first White House Forum on Environmental Justice, and in 2015, she spoke at Pope Francis’s Climate Change Rally at the National Mall in Washington DC. Her work has been featured in books and media outlets throughout the United States, Latin America and Europe.
