Gil Del Bosque Quartet Livestreaming Concert
Continuing the collaboration between Monks Jazz and the Austin Jazz Society on behalf of project #ProjectSafetyNet, the 10th concert in the series will feature saxophonist Gil Del Bosque.
Gil Del Bosque is a freelance saxophonist, composer and educator based in Austin, TX.. He is a graduate of the University of North Texas and University of Texas - Austin. Gil is a regular performer in Austin as well as across the state of Texas.
In addition to performing, Gil currently teaches a studio of 40 saxophone and clarinet students and has served as guest artist and clinician at various universities.
Gil released his debut album, "Here with You" on August 17, 2017. Recorded in Austin, TX accompanied by Chihuahua guitarist, composer, author, college professor and ex UNT alum, Armando Nunez Portillo, bassist Eric Ross, and drummer, David Sierra. Also featured are Dr. Adrian Ruiz and Dr. Pete Rodriguez.
We invite viewers to donate; contributions ensure performers get paid, with surplus funds going into Austin Jazz Society’s “Project Safety Net” – a project initiated in late March to assist Austin-area jazz musicians whose livelihoods have been affected by COVID-19. To date, the fundraising project has raised $54,000+ and benefitted 69 individual musicians.
