Ines Irawati & Jeremy Kurtz-Harris
The Athenaeum mini-concert at the Lyceum today features pianist Ines Irawati and double bassist Jeremy Kurtz-Harris. Born in Jakrata, Indonesia, Ines Irawati began piano lessons when she was just 6. At age 12, she made her official debut playing with the Indonesian Youth Symphony. Ms. Irawati is currently enjoying a richly varied performance career, excelling in solo performance, chamber music, collaborative piano, and operatic vocal coaching. Bassist Jeremy-Kurtz-Harris holds the Sophie and Arthur Brody Foundation Principal Bass Chair of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Kurtz-Harris has a diverse musical background that includes solo, chamber and orchestral performance. In addition to his work as a performer, Mr. Kurtz-Harris is an active pedagogue. He has been the classical bass teacher at San Diego State University since 2006, and has taught master classes in the U.S., Mexico, and Australia.
