Fresh Sound: Joey Guidry
Joey Guidry III is an American bassoonist, and activist currently studying at the Mannes School of Music under Rebekah Heller. As an avid performer and supporter of new music, Clifton has spent the last two years commissioning and premiering a number of new works for bassoon and electronics. He has collaborated with composers George Lewis, Felipe Lara, Edgar Guzman, Bekkah Simms, Christine Liu, and Chew Jun An. Mr. Guidry has participated in the Eastern Music Festival and the Puerto Rico Summer Music festival, and Ensemble Evolution at the Banff Centre. This summer he will be performing in the Spoleto Music Festival, and returning to the Banff Centre for ensemble evolution. Joey Guidry completed his undergraduate studies at the Peabody conservatory under Phillip Kolker.
