Open House & Jewelry Career Fair
Guests can explore museum exhibits, see classroom demonstrations of what goes into the science of gemstones and learn more about the spectacular gemstones that dazzle every visitor. This is the one time of year when the public can visit the 17-acre campus overlooking the Carlsbad Flower Fields and the Pacific Ocean without a reservation. Open house guests are invited to explore the many museum exhibits featuring more than 1,000 pieces – the newest exhibit, Jewels of Hollywood, showcases pieces linked to Hollywood royalty of decades past. There will also be classroom demonstrations of the many education courses offered on campus and the GemKids program that offers students ages 9 to 12 an engaging introduction into gemology. The open house will take place in conjunction with GIA’s annual Jewelry Career Fair, a gem and jewelry industry recruiting event.
