Climate, Equality & Environmental Justice
Presentation by Dr. Cody Petterson “There is no such thing as a single-issue struggle because we do not live single-issue lives.” ~Audre Lorde~ We are at a time when crucial decisions must be made, and difficult actions taken to avert the worse consequences of anthropogenic climate change. Join us for a thought-provoking discussion by anthropologist and environmental activist Dr. Cody Petterson. In this talk he will explore the interdependency of our economic, political, and climate crises. Dr. Petterson will also make it clear why it is impossible to achieve sustainability without equity and environmental justice. Dr. Petterson is the president of the San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action and is on the board for the San Diego River Conservancy. He also dedicates his time to the conservation and restoration of native habitat. There will be time for questions from the audience. Arrive at 5:00 PM and enjoy music from Dryad (Sabine and Jon Sherman). This free event is hosted by the North County Climate Change Alliance and the Vista Public Library. This is part of our Changing Climate Series.
