Tim Flannery, Jefferson Jay, Trails & Rails
The fall Acoustic Evenings at the Athenaeum series concludes with Tim Flannery, The Jefferson Jay Band, and Trails & Rails. While currently working as a TV baseball analyst, Tim Flannery keeps touring in support of his original music, usually backed by his band, The Lunatic Fringe. The revenue from CDs, merchandise, and tickets benefits his nonprofit, the Love Harder Project, supporting anti-bullying and anti-violence programs across the country. Acoustic Evenings’ originator Jefferson Jay leads The Jefferson Jay Band. Featuring his wife, Leanne Pearl, on percussion and J. Kipling Forde on piano, the band always delivers surprises and smiles from Jay’s massive catalog of original material. A returning favorite of the savvy and grateful Athenaeum audience, Trails & Rails has performed extensively in the Southwest for over 25 years. The group’s repertoire includes 19th and 20th century tunes, both popular music and folk tunes. Trails’ artist Walt Richards was a 2019 inductee into the San Diego Music Hall of Fame.
