The Orvieto Piano Trio
The Orvieto Piano Trio will open with a tango by the Argentinean composer, Astor Piazolla. The program continues with the first two movements of Tchaikovsky’s “Souvenir de Florence” as arranged by the pianist, Byron Chow. This free program concludes with Schumann’s Piano Trio, No. 2, opus 80. The members of the Trio are Byron Chow, piano; Lauren Basney, violin and Daniel Frankhuizen, cello. The ensemble met at the Orvieto Musica Chamber Musical Festival in Italy. Lauren Basney has performed widely since her Carnegie Hall debut in 2001. Comfortable both in the classical and the jazz and pop world, Daniel Frankhuizen is also a composer. Byron Chow is a pediatrician and avid pianist and also violist.
