18th Annual Vigil
San Diego Rescue Mission to Hold 18th Annual Vigil. A procession to the vigil will depart from the San Diego Rescue Mission at 9:00 am and walk approximately a mile in the procession to the County Building. Each person will carry a pair of shoes which represents the 111 homeless individuals who died alone on the streets of San Diego last year. The City of Hope International Choir will open the program at the County Building with a song at 10 a.m. The program will also include a welcome from President & CEO of the San Diego Rescue Mission, Donnie Dee, followed by Prayer of Remembrance, ringing of the bell and testimonies. The event is designed to remember those who died alone on the streets of San Diego last year, thereby extending them the dignity they deserve as being a human being created in the image of God.
