Perhaps: Heath Ledger first came to the attention of American moviegoers with his charming performance as the hardass object of Stiles’ affection. The SRO screening I attended was packed with high school girls: hearts swooning in unison whelmed the auditorium the moment Ledger took to the bleachers to serenade Stiles with a chorus of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You.” — Scott Marks
