Four Steps to Creating an Awesome Villain for Kids
Come learn how to bring your villains to life with Jenn Woolf. What could be more fun than creating troublemakers. This free 2 hour workshop is perfect for elementary school kids of all ages. This workshop will focus on why characters are important (stories happen to people) and then we’ll get to work using the 4 most important steps to creating villains. “That face of hers was the most frightful and frightening thing I have ever seen. Just looking at it gave me the shakes all over. It was so crumpled and wizened, so shrunken and shrivelled, it looked as though it had been pickled in vinegar.” Using examples like the one above from Roald Dahl’s The Witches, students will write descriptive paragraphs and illustrate them. Everyone will get a turn in the “author’s chair” to share his/her villain. We are all born with the urge to communicate and to create. This class is designed to encourage reluctant writers and to challenge enthusiastic writers in a supportive, encouraging atmosphere.
