Everyone is welcomed to join an annual community based event in honor of Black History Month titled, “Come Celebrate.” The Friends of the Logan Heights Library host the event and this year’s festivities include entertainment by local churches, line dancers, poets, spoken word artists, noted authors, and keynote speaker, Rev. Richard Lawrence. The free events pays homage to the memory of renown African-American civil rights activists, inventors, political and public figures who have shaped history and contributed to the world at large. Attendees will enjoy music provided by DJ Leon Ferguson, community vendors and soul food donated by sponsor, A. Phillip Randolph Institute - San Diego.
