Remarkable Jewish Women of San Diego
4126 Executive Drive, San Diego, 92037
Cost: $13
Research into the archives of the Jewish Historical Society at SDSU has revealed the largely untold stories of several women who made a significant contribution to Jewish life in San Diego from the 1800s to the present. They include Rose Neumann, who published the first Jewish newspaper in San Diego, and Deborah Szekely, named the “Godmother of Wellness” by the Huffington Post.
The lecture is by Dr. Gloria Harris, who has devoted over 30 years to studying and documenting women’s experiences. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Washington and was inducted into the San Diego Women’s Hall of Fame in 2010.
