Artist statement: My passion for painting I believe in part came from having a happy childhood... The ability to open up and see all positive possibilities. also my Art education and having teachers who inspire & encourage me to explore my own unique style ,instilling confidence which keeps me clear and confident in the direction I am going . Catherine Grawin is one of those teachers a master of color, light & composition fueled by a vast knowledge of Art History and fierce inner knowing of how to enlighten her students. I am so grateful for my beautiful San Diego surroundings from my little Studio space with the doors opening to a forest of bamboo or the early morning light through the trees, the glow of our Sunsets that make even a dull alley or freeway shine, the inspiration is endless and keeps me painting almost daily. I thank my parents ,my Master teacher (Catherine Grawin) and beautiful San Diego for giving me the tools and passion to create art that represents the most authentic version of myself.
