History Talks: Medical Care in Early San Diego
The Gaslamp Museum at the Davis-Horton House’s lecture series next installment explores medicine’s development in San Diego. "Early Medical Care in San Diego" will delve into the techniques and instruments used in years past to treat disease and injury.
Speaker: Davis-Horton House’s Executive Director, Catalina Preskill, M.D. Dr. Preskill retired as a pediatrician from Kaiser Permanente after 30 years and is a volunteer physician at the St. Vincent de Paul Medical Clinic. Her lecture will look into the world of early medicine and the Davis-Horton House’s place in the medical history of San Diego. Mrs. Anna Scheper ran the first County Hospital in downtown San Diego out of the Davis-Horton house for nine years. The hospital room memorializes this piece of the house's history.
