Mark Goffeney, Lisa Sanders, Travis Oliver
The Acoustic Evenings series showcases local acoustic musicians. Multiple performers are featured in each program and are available at the intermission reception and post-concert meet-and-greet. The project advances the Athenaeum’s commitment to support San Diego talent. The fall series begins with Mark Goffeney, Lisa Sanders, and Travis Oliver. Mark Goffeney, a native San Diegan, was born without arms, but developed his own technique for playing the guitar. Mark’s band, Big Toe, appears nationwide, and Mark often travels solo to Europe and Asia. Lisa Sanders, a local raised in Poway, has eight CDs to her credit. She is known for her country, bluesy, “Americana” sound. Travis Oliver is an acoustic guitarist, singer, and songwriter who specializes in flatpicking guitar and roots music. He entertains the listener with a balance of fiery guitar picking, tone-filled melodies, heartfelt ballads, and witty songs.
