Scholar Artist Activist Symposium
2004 Park Boulevard, San Diego, 92101
Cost: Free
National University is proud to sponsor a free community event, “Beyond Borders and Walls: a Scholar, Artist, and Activist Symposium,” which explores the impact of border walls and mobility restrictions for communities, societies, and the environment in the region and all over the world.
It features panel discussions with leading border studies scholars as well as local artists and community organizations, as well as a closing reception for the photography exhibition, Up Against the Wall. The symposium follows the annual binational music festival celebration, Fandango Fronterizo, held that morning in Friendship Park. The symposium is sponsored by National University’s Center for Cultural and Ethnic Studies.
