The race route runs through the park and on the Lake Hodges Trails. Hosted by the San Diego Soccer Club. Since its inception in 2013, the event has provided over $15,000 to families coping with unbearable situations. Beginning 2015, the YNWA 5K is dedicated to the memory of Karina Fares, a 12-year-old who lost her life in an accident on a soccer field in February 2015.
