Part poetry concert and part dance drama with soulful ballads woven throughout, bkSoul's theatrical collaboration packs quite a wallop. As a tribute to women who juggle myriad roles in love, while still trying to keep their individuality intact, the piece is most affecting. Lauren Dockweiler's smokey, bluesy voice adds depth to many vocals. Meisha Rice Wilson, strong as tempered steel, explosive as dynamite, shines in "There's a Leak," and "Voided" with her visceral rants. Grace Shinhae Jun and her dancers tell many tales with arms and legs as they move with intense fluidity about the stage. A tribute to women, yes, but also a testament to the talent showcased here. A Must.
