Without the show's title and the printed descriptions, a viewer would not know what Epiphany Dance Company's new work is about. Everything seems random, from the black-and-white leotards to the harsh pink lighting, from the monotone-music to the spasmodic movement sequence. The dancing lacks subtlety. The movements are too effortful, with too much simultaneity in the groupings. One often wonders throughout: where is the build-up from one gesture to the next? The piece is the continuation of the choreographer's high school senior thesis, so there's hope for improvements in future iterations.
