Tershia d'Elgin: The Man Who Thought He Owned Water
1250 Carlsbad Village Drive, Carlsbad, 92008
Cost: Free
Author, farm owner and climate activist, Tershia d’Elgin will discuss her new book The Man Who Thought He Owned Water. In this book, Tershia recounts her city-bred family’s rare experience after they decamp to a farm on the South Platte River. The farm’s location, deeded water rights, and Rocky Mountain snowmelt made d’Elgin’s father a man who thought he owned water. He trusted that weather, rivers, and elected officials would continue to provide this valuable resource many take for granted. Books will be available for sale and signing. Presented in partnership with Adventures by the Book. Sponsored by the Friends of the Carlsbad Library.
