Secrets of Mental Math Meet-Up
San Diego Skeptic Society presents Arthur Benjamin, the Smallwood Family Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California. Dr. Benjamin will demonstrate how to mentally add and multiply numbers faster than a calculator, how to figure out the day of the week of any date in history, and other amazing feats of mind.
For the past 30 years, Benjamin has presented his mixture of math and magic all over the world to thousands of groups. He has authored several books, including Secrets of Mental Math and four DVD courses for The Great Courses. He is winner of awards from the Mathematical Association of America and the Joint Policy Board for Mathematics for his teaching and communication of mathematics.
The San Diego Skeptic Society (formerly SDARI) is a community resource that hosts lectures on various topics (science, history, etc) and sponsors prizes in the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair every spring.
