The Choir and Riki Michele
Based in Nashville, the Choir is a Grammy-nominated band which has worked with members of the Church and Sigur Ros on both their own music and other projects (guitarist Marc Byrd's band Hammock worked with Sigur Ros’s Jonsi on his Riceboy Sleeps music/art installations). The Choir has released fifteen studio albums in a thirty-year career, and are touring in support of a vinyl re-release of their 1989 album, Wide-Eyed Wonder. Local artist and friend of the Choir Riki Michele will open, with a band featuring Ricky Giordano (Bomb Squad). Having fronted a funk band called Adam Again in the mid-1980s, Michele made her solo debut in 1989 with Big Big Town. She followed up with releases like Surround Me (2002) and the Kickstarter-funded Push (2015). The bill includes Resurrection Radio.
