Labor Day Pier Swim

The modern version of the Oceanside Pier was completed in 1987, 99 years after the first structure jutted into the sea on that spot. In 1929, the first Pier Swim — a one-mile course around the pier and back in celebration of Labor Day. The swim has gone on for 86 Labor Days since and is the longest-running annual rough water swim in the West, drawing hundreds of swimmers from the U.S. and Canada. There will also be an expo in the amphitheater. Sponsored by Oceanside Swim Club.
