Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film, the story of a hulking green ogre who, after being mocked and feared his entire life by anything that crosses his path, retreats to an ugly green swamp to exist in happy isolation. When a gang of homeless fairy-tale characters (Pinocchio, Cinderella, the Three Pigs) raid his sanctuary, saying they’ve been evicted by the vertically challenged Lord Farquaad, Shrek strikes a deal to help them both reclaim their homes. Rescuing of a princess, adventure through a forest and even a talking donkey, all round out this fairy tale adventure. Star Theatre Company is not affiliated with the STAR Repertory Theatre.
