Chinese and the Transcontinental Railroad
541-B Second Avenue, San Diego, 92101
Cost: $5
To coincide with the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum's Chinese and the Iron Road exhibition, Dr. Russell Low, the descendant of a Chinese railroad worker and San Diego native, will give a presentation: The Work of Giants -- The Chinese and the Transcontinental Railroad: A Descendant’s Story.
Dr. Low will present an interactive lecture of the stories his family discovered by his great grandfather, Hung Lai Woh, who worked on the first transcontinental railroad in the United States over a century ago. Including a display of photographs and heirlooms that have been passed down from his family, Dr. Low’s lecture will give a personal look at this often overlooked piece of American history.
