San Diego Festival of the Arts
The 29th La Jolla Festival of the Arts (renamed this year) gathers nearly 200 artists in a bay view setting of original fine art, live music, and entertainment plus cuisine, fine wine, and craft. Kids can enjoy crafts, face painting, and puppet shows, and dads get a complimentary pint glass on Father’s Day.
This year Aaron Chang, world-renowned surf photographer, will exhibit gems from his 25 years of surf photography and Tim Bessell, surfboard shaper, will have Warhol boards onsite. Music on four stages with Peter Sprague and Fred Benedetti, Jazz 88 All Stars, Nina Francis, and several others. Restaurants include Ohana Hawaiian Island BBQ, Divine Greek, Doggos Gus, Home Plate Sports Cafe, Bottaro Wood Fired Pizza, and more. Artists will present in ceramics, glass, photography, mixed media, fiber/textiles, sculpture, jewelry, and painting. $12; weekend pass $16.
