Cuts and Links: Bhavna and Friends
6501 Linda Vista Road, San Diego, 92111
Cost: Free
Raised and influenced by folk art traditions from India, Bhavna Mehta tells stories through intricately cut paper. Cuts and Links is an installation that encompasses a selection from Mehta’s body of work, a collaboration in bookmaking with Diane Gage, and a collection of her students’ and friends’ work. Drawn with a knife, all the work in this show speaks to connections longed for and contemplated within people, relationships, memories, and the links that connect them to a single story. The exhibition is in the James Alan Rose Art Gallery.
