Hike Borrego Palm Canyon
In honor of its 50th anniversary, Anza-Borrego Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, is sponsoring free admission for new visitors to the park’s popular hiking trail Borrego Palm Canyon, where visitors will be able to enjoy six weekends of free access to the largest state park in California.
Borrego Palm Canyon is a family-friendly, three-mile hike known for its oversized palm tree grove and bighorn sheep sightings, culminating in a palm oasis and waterfall. Each year, more than one million visitors enjoy the beloved 83-year-old desert escape that is part of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
Use your ticket on either Saturday or Sunday of the designated weekend for free entry into Borrego Palm Canyon. 100 free passes are available for each weekend, and only one ticket is needed per vehicle. Once you have selected your weekend and registered, show your printed ticket (or image on your phone) to the staff at the Borrego Palm Canyon entry kiosk and begin your weekend getaway.
