Garden Native Tour
Tour 20 native plant gardens in eastern San Diego, the El Cajon Valley, and the surrounding foothills. Get inspired and then learn how to save water and create beauty at our Sustainable Gardening Showcase.
This year we look east as a way of looking ahead to the more variable weather conditions that we are already starting to experience. See how well native plants adapt to hotter days and colder nights than we presently encounter nearer the coast. The featured gardens demonstrate how native plant landscaping provides year-round beauty, promotes birds and other wildlife, and integrates easily with other garden uses. Your yard does not need to look like a desert or a moonscape to save water!
There are two starting points: The Water Conservation Garden at 12122 Cuyamaca College Drive and Grossmont College at 8800 Grossmont College Drive. Info: 858-405-3945 or [email protected].
