The music of Nexus 4000 is a synthesis of psychedelic and prog rock elements, fused with improvisation and harmony that are characteristic of music from modern jazz traditions. The Montalban Quintet is a collective of musicians that have infused interests from various musical barrios including post-punk, minimalism, jazz, 1950s schmaltz, field recordings, and new western art music.
